A class will be held for Tow Motor training for interesting parties on Tuesday, March 6th, 2:00 pm in the Wholesale Warehouse Bay One at the Southwest Virginia Farmers’ Market. GAP Coordinator, Kevin “Bubba” Hancock will conduct the class.
The class will train according the the requirements of OSHA Standard 1910.178. You will have to demonstrate the ability to safely and correctly drive a Powered Industrial Truck.
Everyone that passes will receive a certificate of Completion!

The Virginia Pumpkin Growers Association will hold it’s annual meeting on Saturday, January 27th, 2018. The meeting will be held at the Wholesale area of the Southwest Virginia Farmers Market. Registration begins at 8:15 through 9:00 with the meeting beginning at 9:00 am.
Agenda will be available on the day of the meeting at the Registration table. Annual dues of $50.00 will be due at Registration. A catered meal will be available by Hershbergers Produce.
Anyone interested in attending or becoming a member is encouraged to attend this meeting. We have several guest speakers who are very knowledgeable about pumpkins, food safety, and other important matters.

The Virginia Pumpkin Growers Association is a non-profit 501 (c) 5 organization formed for educational benefit to growers interested in growing or is growing pumpkin and fall products .
The Pumpkin Festival is going to be held October 7th, 2017 – 10am until 4pm on Main Street,Downtown Hillsville… Historic Downtown Chili Shoot Out will also be held on the same day! It’s sure to be a great time! The pumpkin festival is sponsored by the Carroll County Office of Tourism.
A Cabbage, Broccoli, and Greens Production meeting will be held on Tuesday afternoon, April 4th, 2017. The meeting will be at the Wholesale Warehouse Building at the Southwest VA Farmers Market beginning at 6pm .
This meeting will be presented by Dr. Allen Straw.

The Southwest Virginia Farmers Market will be have a full day of GFSI Food Safety Training on April 26th, 2016. The meeting will be held at the Wholesale Warehouse from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Registration will begin at 9:30 am.
